Mary Jane Achor

Memorial services for MaryJane Achor, 90, of Rochester, Minnesota will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Madonna Towers with the Rev. Nancy Wheeler-Handlon officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at Oakwood Cemetery.MaryJane Cutler was born on December 20, 1920 in Portland, Oregon to Asa and Ruth (Hyndman) Cutler. She died of pneumonia on April 13, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.MaryJane graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Home Economics. She married Richard W. Achor on December 26, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. The couple moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 1950 and she taught at the Aldrich Nursery School for 22 years. MaryJane enjoyed current events, reading, the opera and theater. She really enjoyed working with and teaching children.Survivors include her two sons, Michael (Vicky) Achor of Rochester, Minnesota and Matthew Achor of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her daughter, Deborah Achor (Gay Urness) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; her three grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Pursell of Minneapolis, MN, Zachary Urnesss of Grants Pass, Oregon and Samuel Urness of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; her two sisters, Dorothy Cutler of Lacey, Washington and Helen Baxter of Salem, Oregon.
