Mary Grace Dentz

Mary Grace Dentz, 86, of Rochester, passed away peacefully March 31, 2015 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. Mary was born May 27, 1928 in Rochester to James and Blanche Williams. She was a graduate of Rochester High School. On October 18, 1947, Mary married John Dentz Sr. in South Bend, IN. She worked as a pediatric x-ray assistant at Mayo Clinic for 23 years. Mary enjoyed watching golf and football, especially the Vikings and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, and Saturday outings with her friends. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Rochester.Mary and her family were grateful for the care provided by Pine Haven and Heartland hospice staff. Mary is survived by her children, Debra (Ken) Edwards of Bloomington, MN, Bob (Cindy) Dentz of Pine Island, MN; two granddaughters, Chloe and Caitlin Edwards; sister-in-law, Mae Williams of Green Cove Springs, FL and nephew, James E. Williams, III of Green Cove Springs, FL.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Dentz, Sr.; her son, John Dentz, Jr.; sister, Sally; brother, James Jr., and by her parents. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 214 Third St., Pine Island, MN 55963. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service. Pastor Kip Groettum will be officiating with inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. If so desired, memorials may be directed to Pine Haven Care Center building fund.
