Marvin Marv R. Kulas, age 75, of Rochester, MN, died from Alzheimer's and Lewy-Body Dementia on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Cottagewood Senior Communities. He was born on July 9, 1939, in Owatonna, to Harold and Melvina (Anhorn) Kulas. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1957. On July 8, 1957 he entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on July 8, 1960. On May 5, 1962, Marv married Judith Judy Reuvers in Faribault. He worked at IBM for 45 years. Marv was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed snowmobiling, photography, gardening, yard work, playing and teaching bridge and volunteer work. Marv is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Kulas of Rochester; children, Gary (Daiva) Kulas of Shorewood, MN, Mark Kulas of Bloomington, MN, Nina Kulas of Kenmore, WA and Lori Kulas of West Jordan, UT; granddaughter, McKenna Franchik; and brother, David Kulas of Des Moines, WA. Marv was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Tom Loomis presiding. A visitation will be from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester and one hour prior to the services at the church. Inurnment will be at a later datein Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army Caring Partners or to the Mayo Clinic for Alzehimer's and Lewy-Body research.
