Marvin Fitzthum,96, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at The Homestead of Rochester. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family gathering will take place at the Ranfranz & Vine funeral home with burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester. A celebration of life possibly at a later date. Marvin Joseph Gustav was born April 30, 1924 near Wykoff, MN to William & Anna (Jeche) Fitzthum. He graduated from Wykoff HS in 1942 and then attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He returned to farming with his parents until meeting Elaine Schroeder. They were married Sept 22, 1946 and were blessed with two children. He became employed by First National Bank in Rochester where he spent 35 years before accepting early retirement. During his retirement, he drove school bus for 15 yrs. He & Elaine loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida & Texas. They were members of Holiday Rambler travel trailers for over 30 years and met many friends and traveled to over 40 states, Canada, Europe and Mexico. Marvin was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rochester. Marvin is survived by daughter Janelle Koenders of Rochester and son Lynn (Rhonda) Fitzthum of Sartell, Mn. 5 grandsons- Timothy Mattison, Thatcher and Cale Koenders and Matthew and Ryan Fitzthum and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine, 2 sisters Arnelda Ramaker & Artis Schultz and 1 granddaughter Sarah Fitzthum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Eifert Memorial Fund or General Fund.
