Marvin Arthur Haas, Jr.

ROCHESTER - Marvin Arthur Haas Jr., 52, died on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at his home in Rochester surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. Marv was born in Madison, WI on June 4, 1959 to Marvin Sr. and Marilyn (Krier) Haas.He married Kathleen Kangas on November 1, 1980 in Westfield, WI.Marv was a co-owner of Marv's Market in Arlington, WI from 1980-1989.He then worked for the Bureau of Prisons from 1989-2012 as a Cook Foreman at the Rochester Federal Medical Center.Marv enjoyed riding his Harley, boating, curling, the yearly trip to Canada, being at the river, and hunting and fishing with his sons and friends. Marv is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kathleen; three children, Marvin Haas III, of Rochester, Kyle Haas, of Rochester, and Dalton Haas, of Rochester; his mother, Marilyn; and a sister, Ranae Haas, of Poynette, WI. Marv is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Sr. and a son, Travis Allan Haas. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 4135 18th Ave. NW with Fr. Joe Fogal officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and an hour prior to the service at the church.A Rosary will be held at 6:45 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Per Marvin's wishes, no roses are desired at his funeral.
