Martha Senst

Martha Senst, 88, of Rochester, MN passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Seasons Hospice. Martha was born February 22, 1930 at the family farm in rural Racine, Minnesota to Henry and Gertrude (Welder) Boettcher. She attended a one room school, District 33 through grade 8. She attended Stewartville High School. She helped on the family farm before becoming employed in the bakery department at Saint Marys Hospital. On October 28, 1951 she and Laverne H. Senst were married at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church in rural Racine, MN, where she was baptized and confirmed. They were married for 66 years. They lived in Plainview for 2 years before moving to Rochester. She enjoyed old time dancing, yardwork, gardening, collecting rocks and canning tomatoes. She is survived by her son, Allen (Kim) Senst; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob) Deming, Jeffrey (Jessie) Senst, Angela (Nick) Angel and Jesse (Sarah) Schleusner; five great-grandchildren, Charlie, Joy, Caleb, Isaac and Layla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne; a daughter, Cindy; brother, Joe and her parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Reverend Nathaniel Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.
