Marlyce LaVonne Koskovich, 81, of Rochester, MN died peacefully on May 2, 2019 at home surrounded by family. She was born July 16, 1937 to Stanley and Eva (Gudmundson) Barsness. She grew up in and around McIntosh, MN and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1955. She attended Business College in Fargo, ND after which she was employed by the US Government and worked at the US Air Force airbase near Grand Forks, ND. She met her husband to be, Jerry Koskovich, while both were playing trombones in a band concert. On September 5th, 1959 she married her soul mate Jerry Koskovich. After Jerry graduated University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, he accepted a position with the Los Angeles County Building and Safety Department in Los Angeles, CA. While living in LA, Marlyce held a position in the US Government with the Criminal Division of the IRS and participated in several operations against criminal entities. After returned to live in Rochester, MN, Marlyce accepted a position with IBM in Rochester and was employed there for 25 years. Marlyce enjoyed 50 years as an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings football team and held season tickets for many years. She also enjoyed spending many weekends with Jerry on a beautiful 50 foot wooden boat which she and Jerry restored. She also enjoyed skiing while living in their home in Red Lodge, Montana and loved to read in her spare time. Marlyce is survived by her husband Jerry, sisters Lois (Pete) Tolentino, Diane (Johnny) Tolentino, and brothers Roger (Carolyn) and Ray (Connie), as well as brother-in-law Barry (Yen) Koskovich and many nieces and nephews. Marlyce was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lowell who was killed while on active duty in the US Navy. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Dwight LaPine, in Rochester with visitation at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home on Sunday, May 5th from 4pm to 7pm and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville, MN following a light lunch at the church. In lieu of flowers; memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church.
