Mark W. Hedlund

HEDLUND Mark Wayne Hedlund, 94, of Lake City, formerly of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 at the Lake City Care Center. Mark was born July 2, 1923 in Rochester to Emil and Ruth (Peterson) Hedlund. He grew up in Fargo, ND until his sophomore year of high school, when his family moved to Austin, MN. He graduated from Austin High School and went on to further his education at the University of Minnesota. Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII in Europe. After his honorable discharge, he was employed as part of the Army Intelligence and also in the accounting department for Army procurements in Washington D.C. Mark was a quiet man and enjoyed being part of Caring Partners at the Salvation Army. He enjoyed taking walks and reading. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery, 500 11th Ave. NE, Rochester, MN 55906. Arrangements entrusted to Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.
