Mark Thomas Glaesemann, age 80, of Rochester, Minnesota died on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his home. Mark was born on April 9, 1942 to Ruben and Selma (Crofoot) Glaesemann. He grew up in Bemidji and he graduated from Bemidji High School in 1960. He went on to Bemidji State and then received his degree in Industrial Engineering at NDSU. Mark met his future wife in ninth grade when she moved in across the alley from him. Mark married Marjorie Ihle on June 12, 1964 in Bemidji. The couple then moved to Rochester where Mark started working for IBM, retiring in 1991. He continued working for HGA and then Fluor Daniel in Rochester, finally retiring in 2011. Mark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had a deep faith and studied the Bible daily. He enjoyed working outdoors, home projects and loved drawing Snoopy. He was a true servant of God by his caring actions and drive to help others. Mark worked incredibly hard his whole life, with endless stamina. He truly lived his faith in every part of his life. Mark is survived by his wife, Marjorie; their children Steven of Rochester, David of Katy, TX, Lee (Hida) of Richmond, TX, Dan (Jolene) of Wykoff, MN and Erin of Rochester; 4 grandchildren; grandsons Christian and Joshua, and granddaughters Hana and Sophia, and 1 brother, Paul (Marie) Glaesemann of Duluth, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents and his stillborn son. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathaniel Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family or Trinity Lutheran Church.
