Mark William Oldenburg, 73, of Rochester, MN passed away on February 13, 2025, at his home. Mark had been battling with heart problems for several years.
Mark was born in Rochester, MN on January 25, 1952, to Fred (Fritz) and Mary (Manahan) Oldenburg. He graduated from Chosen Valley High School, class of 1970, in Chatfield, MN. Mark proudly served in the military from December of 1971 to December of 1973. During his military service, he was stationed in Missouri and Texas before his final military placement at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, HI, where he was a military paramedic. He worked at Mayo Clinic for 44 years in various jobs, with his last position at the Mayo warehouse.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing in Mill Creek in Chatfield. He also enjoyed reading a good book with a cup of coffee.
Mark is survived by his sister, Catherine (Katy) Pressnall of Oronoco, MN; nephew, Willie Pressnall of Oronoco, MN; niece, Ashley Pressnall of Zumbrota, MN; and his favorite fishing buddy, John Erickson of Chatfield, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred (Fritz) and Mary Oldenburg; and special cousin, Billy Lehman, who Mark referred to as the little brother he never had.
There will be a graveside service at 2pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, with military honors at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 715 US-52, Preston, MN. The family invites anyone that knew Mark to join them after the service at Jac's Bar, 129 Main Street South, Chatfield, MN. We would love to converse and hear your memories of Mark.
