Mark Edward Townsend

ROCHESTER, MN: Mark E. Townsend, 53, died accidentally at his home on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Mark E. Townsend was born February 15, 1958 in Rochester, MN to Herbert R. and Lorraine (Wylam) Townsend Sr. Mark graduated from Mayo High School in 1976 and attended Rochester Community College and Winona State University. He worked most of his life in the resturant and bar business and was one time owner of Mugzees Bar. Mark enjoyed water skiing and fishing. He enjoyed music, especially the Blues. He did sound management for many Blue venues and was instrumental in bringing Blue's bands to Rochester. Mark is survived by his sister Sharon Baxter, Kettle Falls, WA, a brother Herbert (Sheila) Townsend, Rochester, MN, and sister Lorraine (James) Benike, Rochester, MN, two nieces Michelle and Lorraine; and four nephews Todd, Brian, Steven, and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. A private family memorial will be planned for a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Kathy's Pub, Rochester, MN. Please bring stories and pictures to share.
