Mark Alan Speltz

Mark Alan Speltz, 44, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 after a lengthy fight against brain cancer. Mark was born to Alan and Janet Speltz in Slayton Minnesota on November 13, 1975. He attended Stewartville schools and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1994. Mark married Jessica Miller on September 10, 2005 and they had their only child, Norah, in April 2008. Mark worked, entertained, supported, encouraged, and joked with co-workers at Charter Communications/Spectrum for the last 19 years and was a friend to many there. Mark could be found at Diamond Jo's on Friday nights, livening up the poker tables, on the golf course before the sun rose on Saturdays and Sundays, and throwing the ball for his best furry friend Aggie in the evenings. Mark took great pride in his lawn, and perfected his alternating patterning skills. There was no one on this earth that Mark loved more than his daughter Norah. He passed down to her his big smile and hazel eyes, positive attitude, love for lawn mowing, and knack for off-the-cuff comments. Mark will be dearly remembered as a devoted husband and father, a (sometimes) pain in the butt brother to Mychelle, Maria, and Melissa, a loving son to Janet, and a friend and supporter to many co-workers, friends, and neighbors. Survivors include his wife Jessie and daughter Norah, both of Kasson Minnesota, as well as his mother Janet of Stewartville Minnesota, sister Mychelle (Don) Henderson, sister Maria (Ben) Witter, and sister Melissa (Adam) Jones; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Alan Speltz. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville, Minnesota.
