Marion C. Runerson - Rochester Marion Runerson passed away peacefully amidst his family on July 15, 2011 at home following a short, but courageous battle with CMML (Leukemia). Born to Kazimer and Sabina Pobiedzinski in Mishawaka, Indiana on September 8, 1926, Marion was a World War II veteran of the US Navys Seabees. In 1962, Marion moved his young family to Rochester as part of IBMs initial buildup and served with distinction as a cost-analysis engineer for 27 years. Following retirement, he traveled extensively with his family and operated a well-known tool-sharpening business out of his home until his recent illness. Marion was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester. Marion is survived by his wife, Edith Runerson, daughters Annette (Cliff) Sjolund and Karen (Paul) Koeller of Rochester, sister Fr. M. Loginia of Donaldson, Indiana, and grandchildren Marty (Deborah) Sjolund of Houston,Texas, Casey Sjolund of Helena, Montana, and Mara Koeller of St. Anthony, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lonny (Bill) Leffingwell, Eve (John) Huston and Ann (Gene) Johnson. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 AM on July 20, 2011 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to your favorite charity.
