Marilyn "Susie" M. Goodman

A memorial service for Marilyn Susie M. Goodman, 75, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oronoco.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.Burial will be at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. Susie was born on August 4, 1940 in New Ulm, MN to Howard and Luella (Mueller) Heller.She died on January 1, 2016 at her home. Susie graduated from New Ulm High School in 1958.She married Norman Goodman on July 12, 1966 at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brookings, SD.Susie worked at Mayo Clinic for 47 years, retiring in 2005. Susie was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.She enjoyed vacations in Branson, MO and the time spent at their cabin with family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and working in the garden.She was an avid collector of Fenton and other antique glassware.She had a deep fondness for her pets.Susie and Norman were fosters/transporters for Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota which is a rescue and rehoming organization for unwanted or abused Golden Retrievers. Survivors include her husband, Norman of Rochester; two sons, Jerrod (Dawn) of Oronoco and Jason (Shelly) of Pine Island; one daughter, Christy (Brad) Finke of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Nace, Rylee, Mikayla, Madelyn and Michael Goodman and Erik and Brianna Finke; one great grandson, Ryker Cloonan; one sister, Catherine White of Mazeppa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Susie was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials can be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church or Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota.
