ROCHESTER, MINN:Marilyn R. Fellows, 77, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in a car accident, along with her husband, in New Mexico while returning home to Rochester from their winter home in Arizona. Marilyn was born on October 19, 1934 to Andrew and Ella (Flemming) Olson in Crookston, MN. She graduated from Crookston High School in 1952 and later from St. Marys School of Nursing in 1956. Marilyn returned to St. Marys School of Nursing to teach Licensed Practical Nursing.She completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of St. Francis in 1984. Marilyn retired at the age of fifty-five. Marilyn had boundless energy and had many activities, including volunteering and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, fishing, swimming and other outdoor activities. Marilyn enjoyed traveling and playing games with family and friends. She loved being a grandmother and proudly wore World's Best Grandma sweatshirts. Marilyn is survived by her two children, a daughter Deborah Fellows, Coon Rapids, MN, a son Daniel (Carol) Fellows, Lino Lakes, MN; two grandchildren Emily (Nathan) Koster and Jacob Fellows; her brothers Jim Olson and Andrew (Tim) Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Ella Olson, her husband Jim, of fifty-five years, a sister Gladys Blatchford, and two brothers Dick and Bill Olson. A Funeral Service will be held for Marilyn and James Fellows at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester. A visitation willbe held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
