Marilyn B. Reinke, age 87, of Rochester, MN passed away on August 27, 2024 at Rochester Rehabilitation and Living Center.
Marilyn Beth Reinke was born February 6, 1937 in Rochester. She attended country school, Farmhill District 78, Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Rochester High School in 1955. Marilyn was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She worked at the Mayo Clinic for over 48 years, retiring in March 23, 2004, as a laboratory service technician in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Methodist Hospital and the Charlton Building.
She was a 4-H member of Dresser Valley for 12 years and the adult leader for 10 years, also an adult leader for Crystal Sparklers for five years. In 1956, Marilyn participated in the Minnesota/Mississippi 4-H Exchange trip. She was a member of the Olmsted County 4-H Leader Alumni and served as co-superintendent in the open-class photography at the Olmsted County Fair for several years. She was the Recreation Chairperson of the former Mayo Clinic Woman's Club for several years and former member of the Altar Society at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Throughout the years, Marilyn was able to travel to most of the United States, Western Canada, Holy Land, England, Ireland and a Caribbean cruise. She enjoyed sports, photography, flower gardening, word search puzzles, music, the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Minnesota Twins.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Luella (Mitchell) Reinke, brother Arthur, sisters Mona Sleeper and Ruth Kinsley, and nephew Kevin Sleeper, Greg Sleeper, and Dennis Kinsley.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Rhonda (Larry) Albrecht, Ronetta (John) Gullicksrud, Roland Reinke, Reggie Reinke, Michael (Shannon) Sleeper, Kent "Bentley" (Cindy) Sleeper, Randy (Sherry) Sleeper, Kathleen (Dan) Orth, Cindy (Wayne) Haabala and Galen "Shorty" (Michelle) Kinsley, many great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn requested memorials be made to Rochester Central Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, Trinity Music Ministry or Trinity Altar Society.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church (222 6th Ave. SW, Rochester, MN). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
