Marilyn J. McCray, 86, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at White Pines Assisted Living in Cottage Grove, MN. Marilyn was born December 6, 1928 in Douglas, MN to Edwin and Lillian (Tillotson) Wegman. On July 27, 1947 in Rochester, Marilyn married Arthur McCray. Marilyn was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church and very active in many church clubs including the United Methodist Women, the childrens ministry and the Sewing Circle. Marilyn loved gardening, crafts, making quilts with intricate designs to donate to area hospitals and being part of the Cake Club. She was a kind, caring, humble woman that laughed a lot and took great pride in helping others find Christ. She enjoyed playing cards along with board games but above all, Marilyn's greatest love was for her two grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her sons, Joseph (Sharon) of Littleton, CO, Tim (Raven Ashleigh) of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren, Kelsie (Keith) Swain, Tyler McCray; great-grandchildren, Keyton, Keelie and Kamren Swain. Marilyn is also survived by her siblings, Stanley (Barb) Wegman of Oronoco, Donald (Gloria) Wegman of Fremont, NE, Clarence (Marlys) Wegman of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Jerry (Carol) Wegman of Tampa, FL, Barbara Lichtblau of Mazeppa; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur; parents, Edwin and Lillian; sisters, Carolyn Eberhart, Ramona Wegman, Lorraine Ness and brother, Wendell Wegman. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2015 at Evangel United Methodist Church 2645 North Broadway Ave., Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Rev. Phil Strom will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
