Marilyn Mae Sparks

Marilyn Mae Sparks, 76 of Kenosha, WI and formerly of Rochester, MN passed away September 7, 2014 in her home surrounded by family. Born March 21, 1938 in Rochester to Irvin & Florence (Keckhafer) Smith. Marilyn retired from K-Mart where she worked in retail, prior to that she had previously worked in a nursing home and she also was a foster parent for many years. She enjoyed drawing, bowling, square dancing, and camping and throughout the years belonged to various square dancing and camping clubs. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Zion, IL. On January 22, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD she married Wilbert Harold Sparks Sr. and he preceded her in death on September 14th 1993. Surviving are her children, Connie Portalatin (Richard) of Enville TN. Debra Leveque (Daryl) of Beach Park, IL, Micheal Sparks of Stewartville MN. Wilbert H. Sparks Jr. of Kenosha WI. Marks Sparks of Kenosha,WI. Brian A. Sparks (Gail) of Pleasant Prairie, WI. as well as 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and extended family. She is also survived by her siblings: Sharon Smith of Rochester, MN, Robert W. Smith of Glasgo, MT and Nancy Haas of St Cloud, MN She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and her grandson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes with burial following at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
