Marilyn (Lynn) Postier, age 93, of Rochester, MN, died on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Madonna Towers Benedict House. Marilyn Jane (Lynn) Steele Postier was born December 23, 1927 in St. Paul, Minn. Marilyn was the older of two daughters born to John and Grace Steele. Following graduation from Stillwater High School in 1945, Marilyn moved to Rochester where she began working for the Mayo Clinic. She was employed by Mayo Clinic for 4 years and married Robert W. Postier in Rochester on May 29, 1948 and together they raised five children. Her husband was a partner in Postier and Eggers car dealership. Marilyn enjoyed being a volunteer. She was a member of Olmsted Medical Center Auxiliary. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many decades. She was a 20 year charter member in Reach to Recovery (of the American Cancer Society). She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochester for over 70 years. At church she was a long time member of Ruth Circle, a Deacon, and served in prayer shawl ministry. Marilyn's life centered around her family. She also loved meeting her friends at the Y, knitting prayer shawls, and reading (especially about anything Scottish). She is survived by her children, Joan (Jim) Ellingson of Onamia, MN, Judy (John) Kruesel of Rochester, MN, Nance Postier of Kona, HI, Craig (Janet) Postier of Fond du Lac, WI, and John (Beth) Postier of Oronoco, MN; nine grandchildren: Jake Ellingson (Jennie), Joy Whitbred (Charlie), Claire Kruesel (Nathan Thrailkill ), Lucy Kruesel (Noah Prinsen), Molly Postier, Lauren Postier (Pen-Ting Liao), Grant Postier, Matt Postier (Kristen), and Neil Postier; seven great grandchildren: Ellie and Charlie Whitbred, Bryce and Luke Ellingson, Lars, Calvin, and Eli Postier. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Hudson of Marine-on-St. Croix, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Postier in 2003. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, 512 3rd St. SW, Rochester, MN 55902 with Rev. Jay Rowland officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels or to the charity of donor's choice.
