Marilyn Ann Sandberg, 87, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Stewartville Care Center. Marilyn was born July 14, 1927 in Rochester to Earl and Inez (Benson) Brower. She was a 1948 graduate of Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. On February 4, 1951, Marilyn married Herbert Sandberg in Kasson. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Marys Hospital and Methodist Hospital for numerous years before becoming an industrial nurse at Pace Dairy. Marilyn retired from her nursing career in 1984. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, flowers and traveling. Above all, Marilyn loved making memories and being with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Herbert; children, Carl Sandberg of Burnsville, MN, Cheryl (Ronald) Wadley of Oronoco, MN and Craig Sandberg of Apple Valley, MN; sister, Delores Bob)Garnham of Rochester, NY; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Inez; brother, William and by her daughter-in-law, Mary. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 28, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
