Marie Anita Berg

Marie Anita Berg, 71, of Byron, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her home. Marie was born November 7, 1943 in Cannon Falls to Julius Pete and Doris (Johnson) Egge. She was a 1961 graduate of Cannon Falls High School. On July 10, 1965, in Cannon Falls, Marie married Arnold Arnie Berg. In 1967, Marie and Arnie moved from Cannon Falls to rural Byron. Marie enjoyed crosswords, sudoku, crafts and sewing, if it needed repaired, Marie was the one. She also enjoyed camping, riding ATV's, visiting Northern Wisconsin and spoiling her grandchildren. Marie was a strong willed, patient and kind hearted woman. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Marie is survived by her children, Kathy (Kevin) Strain of Byron, David (Jackie) Berg of Chippewa Falls, WI; grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Strain and Kelli and Kristi Grindle. Marie is also survived by her siblings, JoAnne (Wayne) Danielson, Dick (JoAnn) Egge, Roger Egge, Linda (Jerry) Roney, Janet (Joel) Vold, and Rosalie Egge. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Arnie; her parents, Pete and Doris and by her sister, Judith Nassif. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of the service. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
