Mari N. Ahlers

Mari Noelle Ahlers passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 30th at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born November 28, 1996 in Lake City MN to Jerri Getchell and Gregory Ahlers. Later moving to and growing up in Kasson MN. Mari developed a love for horses after having the opportunity to work with them several years ago. Horses brought out the absolute best in Mari, and she often talked of combining her love of horses with her desire to work with disabled children and having a career in Horse Therapy. Mari was a colorful, expressive, beautiful young lady that loved her friends, adored her family, and most certainly left lasting impressions with everyone she met. She would be the first to cheer on the underdog, and the last one listening to a friend in need. Mari loved being mom's little girl, and her brother's big sissy. She also loved music, drawing and painting, new socks, fishing with her brothers, pretty nails, and her cousin Grace. Preceding her in death are grandfathers, Delmar Getchell and Kenneth Ahlers. She is survived by parents, Jerri and Sean Chvatal; brothers, Michael and Gabriel Chvatal; biological father, Greg Ahlers; grandparents, Judy & Bill Gilk of Lake City; Vonnie and Darrell Springer of Corona CA, Linda Ahlers of Lake City, Lucienne Chvatal of Rochester, Dave and Kathy Bond of Byron; older brother, Shawn Keeton of CA and younger brother, Zaccheus Askvig of Chatfield; and her Godparents, Val Powers and Allard Ahlers.
