Longtime resident, Margaret (Marge) A. Heaberlin, 83, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Fontaine Towers. Margaret Ann Lyon was born May 6, 1928 in Hinckley, MN.She graduated from Hinckley High School in 1946.She met John Heaberlin while working as a bookkeeper at an electronics company in Austin.They married on September 25, 1954 and lived in Owatonna until 1955 when they moved to Rochester.Together they owned and operated Electronics Associates and, later, Builders Service Company.Marge also did bookkeeping and accounting for several local businesses and was the office manager for Mohn Realty and Home Builders until she retired. As a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Marge was involved in many activities including the youth group and Sunday school classes.She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and for many years enjoyed volunteering at the Dorothy Day house.Marge was also a long time member of the Huff and Puff Club, a local respiratory support group co-founded by her husband.She enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing and photography. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, and grandmother whose generosity of time and spirit touched many throughout the years. She is survived by two brothers, William (Jean) Lyon and John (Mary Ann) Lyon, both of Hinckley, MN; son, Curt Heaberlin, of Boynton Beach, FL; three daughters, Sharon (Daniel) Waranius of Pasadena, MD; Toni (Anthony) Aipperspach of Rochester; Linda Heaberlin of Plainview, MN; ten grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her husband, John Heaberlin. A celebration service will be held Saturday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 529 20th St SW, Rochester, MN with the Rev. Karen Pahl officiating.After cremation, her ashes will be placed by those of her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.A visitation will be from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Huff and Puff Club. Red was Marge's favorite color and out of respect for her wishes, friends and relatives are invited to dress casually for her funeral and wear something red.
