Marcia Louise Boese was called home to God on May 21, 2016 at home surrounded by family and still fighting pancreatic cancer.She was born on the hottest day of the year, July 22, 1934, in Winona, Minnesota to Evan Ollie and Clara (Weimer) Davies.She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Winona.She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1952. While attending Winona State Teachers College she met the love of her life, Arnold Boese.They were married on December 26, 1953.During his career as teacher and principal, Marcia made each and every house in which they lived into a loving home.They had 4 children whom she nurtured and lovingly challenged until her death. Marcia was involved in church activities wherever they lived.She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester for the past 5 years, when she and Arnie moved to Rochester to be closer to family. She was also a member of the Samaritan Bethany Auxiliary. Marcias love of life, kindness and deep interest in every person she met made her especially beloved by her family. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, traveling, reading, flowers, watching MN sport teams compete and being with her family.After years of waiting, she was finally able to rejoice in the birth of 3 great-grandchildren, and expects to see more from heaven. Survivors include her husband Arnold, her four children Doug (Cindy) Boese of Rochester, Rev. Jean Boese of Rochester, Brian Boese of St. Paul and Jan (Charles) Anderson of Lafayette, MN.Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren Brett (Maisa) Boese, Kristi (Mikey) Olson, Erin (Trevor) Wittwer, Jordan (Kara) Boese, Paul (Ashley) Warmbold and David (Laurin)Warmbold.She is the proud great-grandmother of Kate, Will, and Maddox.She is survived by her brother Evan (Judy) Davies of Phoenix, AZ and by sisters-in-law Naomi (Jerry) Johnson and Fran Wilson, as well as by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. A service celebrating Marcias life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church (869 7th Ave SE, Rochester, MN) on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Heining officiating.Visitation will take place at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN 55901) on Wed., May 25, 2016 from 4:00 6:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.Please join the family for fellowship and lunch at the church following the service.
