Malissa Sorum

Malissa May Sorum, 48, of Rochester died on May 15, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born on April 16, 1971 in Rochester to Jason Jones and Sue Pickett. Malissa graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City and attended Rochester Technical College. On April 22, 1992 she married Daryl Sorum. She enjoyed reading, riding horses, volunteering at Paws and Claws, working with her grandmother in her house, and communicating with the deaf on the computer. Survivors include her husband, Darryl Sorum of Rochester; father, Jason Jones of Missouri; in-laws, Duane (Nancy) Sorum of Chatfield; sister, Malinda (Randall) Osborn of Hutchinson, KS; two half- sisters; two half- brothers and grandmother, Nancy Klennert. There will be a visitation on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Paws and Claws Humane Society.
