Mable Julia Delva, 95, of Rochester, MN passed away May 19, 2018 at Madonna Towers where she had resided since 2006. Mable Julia Delva was born to Martin and Juliana (Froyum) Hoseth on November 22, 1922 in Minneola Township near Zumbrota, MN. She attended school in District 138 and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1940. She married Warren Delva of Bellechester, MN in Fort Knox, Kentucky on September 18, 1943. They lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama while Warren served in the US Army until he was dispatched overseas to Japan. After his discharge in 1946, they moved to Oronoco, MN where they owned Delhaven Kennels and raised collies and Shetland sheepdogs for 45 years. Warren worked for Rochester Dairy and later for Pace Foods. Mable enjoyed sewing clothing for her daughters including their wedding and bridesmaid dresses, knitting, crocheting, and hardangar. She had a green thumb and grew beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a Brownie leader in Oronoco for 8 years and was active in the Oronoco PTA. In 1991, they moved to Rochester where they resided for 15 years. Three years after Warren's death, in 2003, she moved to Madonna Towers. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren in June 2003, two brothers George (Della) and Victor, one sister Dena (Russell) Ruegg, and two nephews. Survivors include four daughters, Rheta (John) Stears of Wabasha, Judy (Roger) Jones of Rochester, Sarah (Douglas) Deets of Eyota, and Teresa (Charlie) Herron of St. Charles, four grandsons, Andrew (Keri) Jones, Mitchell Deets, Mike Millard, and Paul Millard, five granddaughters Kris Maule, Erin (Scott) Keeley, Natalie (Steve) DeGrand, Jillian Deets, and Katie (CJ Fischer) Millard, eleven great grandchildren, Audrey, Ryan, Ty, Charlie, Lydia, Rachel, Alyssa, Charlie, Violet, Walter, and Jasmine, two nephews and three nieces. Mable was always very proud of her Norwegian heritage and loved her lutefisk and lefsa. She enjoyed compiling her and Warren's family trees that extended back for many generations in the days before the internet. She loved all animals, especially her dogs and the family horses. Box 395, Circle Pines, MN 55014-9998 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Madonna Towers in Rochester.
