Lynn Zaiken - Rochester, Minnesota (formerly of Chicago, Illinois) Lynn Zaiken, 94, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her immediate family on Monday, February 12, 2018. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Ben Zaiken. Born on December 12, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, to Meyer & Annie Davis, Lynn was a 1st generation American. A child of the depression, she graduated from Manley High School at the age of 12 in 1935. She married Ben Zaiken on November 4, 1951 and they enjoyed a long marriage filled with many good times, travels, and colorful arguments. A loving Grandmother, Lynn Zaiken lived in Chicago for most of life until she moved to Rochester in 2007. She was a quintessential "Chicago Girl" who loved the cosmopolitan lifestyle. She enjoyed sharing the cultural institutions of her city with her grandchildren. She loved attending the Chicago Symphony & the theatre as well as dining at gourmet restaurants. An avid reader, she deeply followed politics all her life, especially in her later years. Lynn is survived by her three sons: David P. Zaiken (with whom she lost contact), Kenneth A. (Mary) Zaiken of Rochester, MN, & Eliot J. (Meredith) Zaiken of Covington, GA; her eight grandchildren: Heather, Lyndi (Ryen), Amanda (Jamie), Beth (Mark), Brenley, Jessica (Richard), Zachary, and Michael (Claire); her four great-grandchildren: Kyla, Avalene, Flynn, & Madeline; her nephew Howard (Linda); and her niece Carol.
