Lyle S. Freiderich

Funeral services for Lyle S. Freiderich, 83, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Pax Christi Catholic Church with Father Lavern Trocinski officiating.Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2:00 5:00pm, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with a 4:00 pm Masonic Service. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church. Lyle S. Freiderich was born on May 26, 1929 in New Ulm, MN to William and Theresa (Gulden) Freiderich.He died on June 5, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Lyle graduated from New Ulm High School and Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis.He worked for Muzak and later graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.Lyle married Lorretta Blanchette on May 16, 1953 in St. Paul, MN.Lyle worked at IBM in Endicott, New York, from 1962 to 1968 and then transferred to the Rochester plant.He retired after 30 years.The couple retired to Longville, MN in 1993 and moved back to Rochester in 2011. Lyle was a charter member of Pax Christi Catholic Church.He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, traveling and woodworking.He was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Club in Longville, MN, and liked to play cribbage.He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and the Rochester & Longville Masonic Lodge.He loved being a Shrine Merry Medic Clown, going to parades, making balloon animals and making people smile. Survivors include his wife, Lorretta of Rochester; his son, Mitchell (Kathy) Freiderich of Chanhassen, MN; his daughters, Michelle Freiderich of Rochester, MN and Monique (Tobias) Parks of Rochester, MN and his brother, Kenneth (Dorothy) Freiderich of New Ulm, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
