Lyle R. Michaletz

MANTORVILLE, MINN - Lyle Roy Michaletz, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Lyle was born on Dec. 3, 1938, to Leonard and Credella (Shaw) Michaletz in Minneapolis, Minn. Lyle graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1957 and married Dianne L. Lusian on Sept. 16, 1960 at Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale. Lyle was a carpenter, homebuilder and craftsman for many years in Maple Grove, Minn., and later moved to Rochester with his wife in 1997 to co-purchase Construction Collaborative with his son, Grant. He then retired in 2006. As a proud member of the National Hot Rod Association, Lyle loved restoring and showing vintage cars, especially his 1958 Chevy Cameo pickup. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Lyle was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who will always be remembered for his blue eyes and his beautiful singing voice. Lyle is survived by his wife of 54 years Dianne Michaletz, Mantorville, Minn.; his children Grant (Kari) Michaletz, Rochester, Minn; Jodi Braseth, Minneapolis, and Derek (Kelly) Michaletz, Byron, Minn.; his grandchildren Mackenzie, Matthew, Mitchell (Michaletz), Jake, Joshua and Jenna (Braseth) and Andrew and Morgan (Michaletz); a sister Kathy (John) Hanson, Moose Lake, Minn., and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two brothers Marnold and Curtis Michaletz preceded Lyle in death. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the 10th floor staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital and, especially, Dr. Jeffery Rabatin for the upmost care, compassion, and friendship during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, Aug. 8 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes Chapel. A visitation will be held at 1pm the service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
