Luverna Marie Field, age 93 of Rochester passed away December 8, 2014 in her home after a lengthy illness. She was born June 18, 1921 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Rae A. & Karen M. (Knudsen) Travis.She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1939 and then received her bachelors degree from Cornell College in 1943.On December 26, 1943 she married Charles A. Field and was married for 71 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and golf and was active many years in the Congregational Church and a member of the PEO CK Chapter for over 50 years.She was a homemaker most of her life but did many hours of volunteer work outside of the home. Surviving with her husband, Dr. Charles Field of Rochester, are her children; Richard Field (Christine) of Peoria, IL, Christine Marsh (Marcus) of Aitkin, MN, Martha Most (Greg) of Omaha, NE, and Julie Collins (Mark) of Rochester, MN and a daughter-in-law, Susan Field of Rochester, MN; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Chuck, a great grandson Quinn, and her sister Jane. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday December 13, 2014 at Congregational Church U.C.C. 965 17th Avenue SW Rochester, MN55902 with visitation one hour prior to service.Family burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.Memorials appreciated to the Mayo Hospice, Congregational Church or Salvation Army.
