Lucille Wehrs

Lucille M. Wehrs, 96, of Rochester, MN died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Samaritan Bethany. Lucille Mildred Cordes was born November 1, 1921 to Arthur and Anna (Hoenk) Cordes in Farmington Township, MN. She graduated from Byron High School in 1939 and worked for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. She married Lawrence Wehrs on January 12, 1944 in Rochester at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Rochester, where she stayed at home with her children. Later she worked as a bookkeeper at Rochester Dairy, Good Year Tire, and Big G. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a longtime volunteer at the Mayo Clinic. She enjoyed needlework, quilting and gardening. Lucille is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Rochester, MN; two daughters, Jacqueline (John) Walther of Columbia Heights, MN and Judith (Richard) Argue of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Steven Walther, Michelle Swiglo, Timothy Walther and David Argue; six great-grandchildren and a sister in law, Loretta Rahman of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church (222 6th Avenue SW) with the Reverend Nathaniel Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Rochester Central Lutheran School (Angel Fund) or the donor's choice.
