Lucas J. Volker, 36, of Sartell, MN died Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Bismarck, North Dakota due to injuries sustained in a construction accident. Lucas John Volker was born July 10, 1976 to Richard and Debra (Hodges) Volker in Winona, Minnesota.Lucas graduated from Mayo High School in 1995.Lucas was in the United States Army from May 27, 1997 until May 26, 2000.He married Sarah Wuertz on August 28, 2004 in Albany, Minnesota.Lucas worked construction for many years.He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lucas is survived by his wife, Sarah of Sartell, MN; two sons, Jacob and Thomas Volker at home in Sartell, MN; his father, Richard (Jo Ann) Volker of Rochester, MN; his mother, Debra Volker of Winona, MN; two sisters, Tami (Scott) Rushing of Dundas, MN and Jennifer (Brett) Mattson of Rochester, MN; two brothers, Matthew (Crystal) Volker of Rushford, MN and Jonathan Volker of Rochester, MN; paternal grandmother, Betty Volker of Fredricksburg, IA; his maternal grandmother, Joy Quigley of Tripoli, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his 2 grandfathers; an uncle; and his brother, Jacob. Funeral service will be Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Pastor Elizabeth Strenge officiating.Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by Rochester American Legion Post #92.
