Lorraine K. Zeller, 92, of Rochester, MN, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital. Lorraine Kathryn Schroeder was born at home on July 20, 1920 in Alice, ND to Eugene and Justine (Schmidt) Schroeder.Her parents served as ministers in North Dakota and Montana.She attended Western Union (Westmar College) in Le Mars, IA.She taught school in Montana for several years before moving to southern California where she met her husband Chaplain Kenneth P. Zeller.She married Kenneth in 1948 in California.They spent 33 years serving in the United States Navy, mostly in California and Hawaii, and later served as a visitation pastor in Orange, California. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, and spent much of her time playing the piano for military services. She also played piano at Shorewood up until several weeks ago.She had eye problems much of her adult life and consequently played a vast array of music from memory.She and her husband moved to Rochester in 2002 where they retired at Shorewood. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Cindy Meseck and son-in-law, David of Rochester; her son, Christopher Zeller of Long Beach, CA; five grandchildren, Susan Meseck Van Kekerix, Lisa Meseck Robinson and Aaron Meseck; Scott Zeller and Katie Zeller; and five great grandchildren, Trevor and Karissa Robinson, Jacob and Jessica Van Kekerix and Miranda Meseck.She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2004. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the Fireside Room at Shorewood Commons in Rochester, MN.Burial will be in Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA.
