Loren P. Keefe

Loren P. Keefe, 79, died peacefully at his daughter's home in Spring Valley, MN on Saturday, August 31, 2013 surrounded by his family. Loren Paul Keefe was born August 26, 1934 to Henry L. and Magdalena (Stegner) Keefe in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Wilson High School in St. Paul, MN in 1952. Loren attended the University of Minnesota for one year before he enlisted and served in the Army from 1955-1957.He married Marian Burquist and they were later divorced. He married Joanne Lawstuen and he is survived by her. Loren worked for H & R Block and owned and operated Keefe Accounting for many years in Rochester. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing poker and bridge. He was a member of the Rochester Bridge Association. Loren operated a charter fishing boat on Lake Michigan and in later years, he enjoyed studying genealogy. Loren is survived by his wife Joanne Keefe, Chatfield, MN; his children, Mike ( Barb) Keefe, Shell Lake, WI, Julie (Steve) Kelly, Weslaco, TX, Rich Keefe, Warsaw, MN, Barb Keefe, Spring Valley, MN, Lynn (Richard) Beckard, Kasson, MN; his step-children, Tim (Jodi) Lawstuen, Chatfield, MN, Shelly (Tom) Billiet, Hopkins, MN and Lisa (Joey) Fox, Spring Valley, MN; nineteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; his sister Audrey (Gerald) Mitchell, CA; and a niece and nephew also in California. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Sophia Stegner and Henry and Anna Keefe, his parents Henry and Magdalena Keefe, and two brothers Henry and Richard. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.Memorials may be designated to the American Cancer Society.
