Lois Virginia Cowden

Lois V. Cowden, age 85, of Rochester, MN died on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys Campus in Rochester. The memorial service will be at 11:00 am. on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The inurnment will be in the Oronoco Cemetery. Lois Virginia Rawson was born on May 6, 1931, in Rochester, to Robert and Kate (Juliot) Rawson. She graduated from Pine Island High School. In 1949, she married Gerald R. Postier and they lived in Douglas. They later divorced. Lois attended and graduated from the Minneapolis Business College and worked at Nietz Electric, Mayo Clinic, and local accounting businesses.In 1976, she married Caryl Cowden, and they made their home in Oronoco where she worked with him at Cowden's Store.They later moved to Pine Island. Caryl died in 2005. After Caryl's passing, Lois moved to Mesa, AZ where she loved to spend time with her new and old friends.She later returned home to Rochester to be close to her family. Lois enjoyed playing musical instruments, drawing, painting, crafting, reading, crocheting.She loved to work on the computer and especially enjoyed connecting with friends and family on Facebook. Lois is survived by her children, Roland (Roberta) Postier of Douglas, Susan Postier and friend, Carroll Austy Austinson; grandchildren, James Moon (Lori Lipki), Bryce (Mandy) Moon, Brian Postier and Kate Postier; great-grandchildren, Stephen (LeAnna) Colsch, Connor Moon, Lily Moon, Callie Postier and Arik Postier. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Caryl; siblings, Lulu Williams, Ralph Rawson, Dorothy Claasen, Robert Rawson, Bruce Rawson, Bryce Rawson, Ruby Knaus and Laura Radtke.
