On Friday October 25th, 2019 Lois Engel of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully at Season Hospice in Rochester, MN at the age of 96. Lois was born on March 4th, 1923 to Louis Kepp and Emma Becker. She is now with Everett celebrating their 79th Anniversary. Lois grew up and lived in Rochester Minnesota most of her life. On October 27, 1940, she married Everett Engel. She is survived by her son Gary and (Carole) Engel, 2 Grandkids Wendy and (Greg) Mercil, Jeff Engel, 5 Great Grandkids Megan, Andrea, Sam, Rachel and Sara, 1 Great Great Grandson Wesley. She is preceded in death by her husband Everett and siblings Donald Kepp, Margaret Cosgrove and Wesley Kepp. Her late husband Everett passed many years ago. They lived a wonderful life together. Living in Hawaii and summering in Minnesota. (Kind of the opposite of most of us here). Lois worked hard managing the children's wear department at Silliman's in downtown Rochester. She went on to work at Stevenson's in the lady's wear department. Both places were right next to the Green Parrot which is where she took her grandchildren for cinnamon rolls. When Everett passed, Lois stood steadfast and changed her life perfectly. She got her driver's license and started to love the world. She never met another man because her love for Everett was so strong. It was to the day she left us. And she didn't need anyone anyhow, family was enough. After Everett passed, Lois sold the place in Hawaii and moved back to Rochester in 1986. She traveled with her sister -in-law Delores to Ireland, Russia, China. and Branson. Branson was her favorite place to enjoy, along with Danial O'Donnell. She and Dee would load onto a bus and head down. Can't even imagine the conversations. I am sure it was like a couple of 16-year old's. Lois are you bringing this, then I don't have to. Dee what about that? should I worry about it... Lois's love had no boundaries. She was fortunate enough to enjoy 5 generations of her DNA through her great, great grandson Wesley. Not many folks get to have that much love. Lois had more than enough to give. She will always be in our hearts. There will be a memorial for Lois at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home at 11:00 am on December 12, 2019 with visitation starting at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service at Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Centre.
