Lois F. Headline, age 85, of Rochester, and formerly of Faribault, died on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Marys Campus, Rochester, following an extended illness. A memorial visitation will be held at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Lois Frances, one of 14 children, was born on August 23, 1931 in Faribault to Francis C. and Freda M. (Gembler) Headline. Lois graduated from Faribault High School in 1949. After graduation, she was employed at St. Lucas Hospital, Faribault and later moved to Rochester, where she worked for Olmsted Community Hospital for 40 years. Lois was a dedicated volunteer worker. She was honored with a beautiful plaque and gift for 5,000 hours of volunteer service, and in May was to be honored for additional volunteer hours, especially hours spent at OMC Auxiliary, gift shop and Coffee Cart on the surgery floor. She also spent many hours at Seasons Hospice and also at the Federal Medical Center, Rochester checking out books to inmates. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. A favorite activity was playing Mahjong with friends and her many coffee, lunch and dinner gatherings with several different groups of friends. She is survived by four siblings, Irene Eiler, Darlene (and Ted) Larish and Patricia Larish, all of Faribault, and Linda (and David) Huss of Aitkin; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Francis (Joan) Headline of Brooklyn Park and Mrs. Richard (Joan) Headline of San Jose, CA; two brothers-in-law, Victor Kummer and David Brown; and many nieces, nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings, Virginia Kummer, Verna Headline, Viola Martin, Hazel Kummer, Rosemary Remillard, Russell Headline, Francis Headline, Richard Headline and Andrea Brown; and four brothers-in-law, Russell Martin, Wrey Kummer, Ervin Eiler, and Roger Larish.
