Lloyd "Roz" A. Roczniak, age 95, of Rochester, died on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Madonna Towers in Rochester. The burial will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Lloyd was born on September 16, 1922, in Virginia, MN, to Andrew and Katherine (Marek) Roczniak. He graduated from Virginia High School. He entered into the United States Air Force and later was honorably discharged. On October 23, 1950, he married Jean "Jeanie" VanPelt in Leon, IA. They ran various restaurant and hospitality businesses in Iowa. They moved to Rochester and continued their business adventure for the Kahler Hotel in Rochester. He retired in 1982 after 23 years. Roz and Jeanie were a cooking and baking team. They flew cross country to participate in several cooking and baking contests. They enjoyed entertaining family and friends especially guests from the Kahler on their boat in Wabasha. Roz had a passion for cars and boats. He gained many friends throughout his years at Madonna Towers. Roz is survived by sister, Marjorie Neagbour of Virginia, MN; niece, nephews, great-nephews and great-great-nephews. Roz was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, sisters, Elizabeth Westerberg, Anne Huey, Sophie Roczniak; and brother, Stanley Roczniak.
