Linda Marie Greene

Linda Marie Greene, 63, of Dodge Center, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on October 7, 1951.She graduated from Dodge Center High School, Class of 1969.She attended college (just shy of her BS in Math) and eventually relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she met Gregory Charles Chess, 65, and together they had a daughter, Shani Rae Greene, who would be the only child for the both of them.In 1986, Linda and Shani moved back to Dodge Center, Minnesota and Linda began to work at the Mayo Clinic, where she was employed for 27 years as a medical secretary, recently retiring in May 2014.Linda loved the Lord and shared this love with her family and friends.She was especially known for her musical talents, including her beautiful voice and being a gifted pianist/organist and shared these gifts with so many around her.Linda truly loved her family, her church family and her hometown of Dodge Center, Minnesota and they will forever hold a special place in her heart. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Ardith (Bond) Greene, her niece, Cindy Greene, her uncle Wallace Greene and his lovely wife, Millicent and her uncle, Claston Classy Bond and his lovely wife, Seili. Linda is survived by her father, Clare Louis Greene, 97; her daughter, Shani and two grandchildren, Khalen and Jayda; her two brothers, Bruce (Carla) Greene and Larry (Del) Greene; two sisters, Kathryn Greene-Therneau and Barbara Simonsen; and her loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lindas life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014.There will be two services, an afternoon service from 3:00pm-4:30pm at Dodge Center, United Methodist Church, 20 1st St NE, Dodge Center, MN 55927 and then headed to Rochester, Minnesota for a meal sharing from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. and an evening worship service from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
