Linda Chesney

Linda M. Chesney, 69, of Pine Island, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Linda Marie Dunker was born May 18, 1949 to George and Irene (Soufal) Dunker in Owatonna, MN. She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1967. On August 5, 1967 she married Martin Chesney at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, MN. After their marriage, the couple made their home in rural Pine Island, MN. Linda was a homemaker extraordinaire. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing her table and home with friends and family. She endeared all with her loving heart, her endless generosity and her famous pumpkin waffles. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She will be dearly missed by them all. Linda is survived by her husband, Martin of Pine Island, MN; her children, Tammy (Dave) Carlson of Shoreview, MN, Kimberly (Brad) Smith of Seattle, WA, Chris (Mary) Chesney of Prescott, WI and Karee (Craig) Malterud of North Branch, MN; twelve grandchildren, Anthony, Russell, Morgan, John, Reed, Sarah, Alexandra, Kira, Olivia, Halle, Jacob and Carter; and one sister, Jean Dunker of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kay Dunker. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Pax Christi Catholic Church (4135 18th Avenue NW) with Father Will Thompson presiding. There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes on Monday, December 17, 2018 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place at Milton Cemetery in Dodge County, MN.
