BURNSVILLE, MINN:Leslie Kay Sperry, 58, formerly of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with A.L.S. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville, MN. Throughout her journey with this horrible disease she always managed to light up the room with her beautiful smile everyday. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. Leslie Kay Sperry was born May 25, 1955 to Don and Marian (Varner) Sperry in Ft. Dodge, IA. Leslie graduated from John Marshall High School, Rochester, MN in 1973. She married Loras Bonin in June 1986 and they were later divorced. Leslie worked for many years at the Post Bulletin, RGIS Inventory, and Walmart. Leslie enjoyed bowling and playing scrabble. She was a faithful Twins and Vikings fan. She loved spending time with her family. Leslie is survived by her daughter Briana Sperry, Burnsville, MN, her son Dylan Sperry, Haines City, FL, a grandson Damari Sperry, Burnsville, MN, who put the twinkle in her eye; a brother Steve (Patricia) Sperry, Mechanicsville, VA, her sisters,Anne (Shawn) Sperry Hansard, Livingston, MT, Donna Sperry, Rochester, MN and Barbara Sperry, Lake City, MN; her nieces, Nicole Sperry, Burnsville, MN, Alissa (Tory Williams) Honsey, Burnsville, MN, and Ashley Harwick, Rochester, MN; a nephew Seth Sperry, Greensboro, NC; five great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family of caregivers and fellow residents of the Bryant House in Burnsville where she spent the last six months of her life. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents, and two sisters, Jennifer and Jeanette. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 2 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church Rochester, MN with Reverend Anjanette Bandel officiating.Visitation will beone hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm Friday at the church.
