Les Corey, age 70, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Avenue SE, with Reverend Anjanette Bandel officiating. The visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and also one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are preferred to Les' family to be donated to an organization of their choice. Les was born on October 16, 1948, in Rochester, to Frank and Ethel (Johnson) Corey. He graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1966. Les graduated from Winona State University. On December 18, 1971, he married Cindy Fisher in Fairmont, MN. He worked in the rehabilitation unit at the St. Mary's Hospital and then trained to become a respiratory therapist at Mayo Clinic where he worked 33 years until his retirement in 2010. Les enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, car racing, traveling after retirement and especially driving his mustang convertible. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. Les was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he served on the endowment committee. Les is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy of Rochester; daughters, Jill (Ian McLogan) Corey of Seattle, WA and Rachel (Stefanos Orfanakos) Corey of Rochester; sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Bier of Owatonna, Nanci (Wayne) Tjosaas of Kasson and Kathy (Bob) Brintnall of Cannon Falls; brothers, Chuck (Jackie Cain) Corey of Dodge Center and Lee Corey of Dodge Center; and many nieces and nephews.
