Leola Wolfgram

Leola Adler Wolfgram, 92, a longtime Rochester resident, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at the Charter House. Born January 8, 1925, in Elgin Township, Wabasha County, to Fred William and Alice Schultz Adler, Leola graduated from Rochester High School in 1941 and from Winona Business College in 1942. In 1943, she became the legal secretary for Mr. Albert E. Clemens, a local attorney, and continued working for Mr. Clemens until 1955 when she joined her husband in managing the family business. Leola married Reuben C. Wolfgram on May 7, 1945, in Rochester. She and her husband owned and operated a custom home building business called Reuben C. Wolfgram Building Contractor from May 1, 1950 to late 1983. Mr. Wolfgram passed away in 1991. Leola was active in her childrens schools serving many years as Treasurer for Aldrich Memorial Nursery School and Washington Elementary School PTA. She was a Boy Scout den mother and a Girl Scout troop leader, and participated in many activities throughout her childrens elementary, junior and senior high school years. Leola loved dancing, hunting and fishing with her husband, and was an avid bridge player and a talented bowler. She was a member of the Rochester Home Builders Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church. Leola most loved spending time with her family, especially at the family cabin on Teepeota Point along the Mississippi River near Wabasha. Survivors include a son, Kirk William (Lu Ann), of Rochester; a daughter, Kim Wolfgram Salz (Richard), of Rochester; a niece, Sandra Tlougan Magruder (Art), of Rochester; an exchange student son, Kurt H. Mayer, of Vienna, Austria; three grandsons, Jonathan (Gudrun), Christopher (Kayla) and Timothy (Amanda) all of the Twin Cities; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, a son, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church (222 6th Avenue SW) with the Reverend Joel Haak officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
