Lavonne "Bonnie" G. Siewert

ROCHESTER, MINN:LaVonne Bonnie Siewert, 80, peacefully passed away at Cottagewood (formerly Sunrise Cottages) on Sunday, August 4, 2013, which was also her birthday! She celebrated her birthday dancing once again with the love of her life, Willard. LaVonne G. Carlson was born August 4, 1933 to Carl M. and Stella M. (Lee) Carlson in Byron, MN. She graduated from Byron High School and married Willard Siewert on June 27, 1959 in Rochester, MN. Bonnie worked in Purchasing for I.B.M. for many years. After retiring, Bonnie and Willard traveled, fished, and danced. They finally found LaBelle, FL where they enjoyed fifteen years of being snowbirds until he died on October 31, 2001. Bonnie continued to go to Florida to get away from the Minnesota winters. She met Roger Markell and they had a special relationship for several years. Roger brought a missing spark into Bonnie's life once again. Bonnie enjoyed NASCAR and spent many Sunday afternoons cheering on her beloved Dale Earnhardt, Jr. October 2012 changes started to occur in Bonnie's life and it was called Lewy Body dementia. It robbed her of her freedom of life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Thanks to Cottagewood and Season's Hospice for their care of this special lady. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Pam (Jerry) Harders, Rochester, MN; a grand daughter Kayla Jo (Travis) Muller, Rochester, MN; her three brothers, Curtis (Bonnie) Carlson, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Francis (Marylin) Carlson, Byron, MN and Lloyd (Carol) Carlson, Byron, MN; a sister-in-law Audrey Carlson, Byron, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willard, and a brother Gerald Carlson. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home Chapel.
