Larry H. Anderson, 69, of Rochester, Minn. died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his residence in Rochester, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Larry was born November 17, 1946 in Albert Lea, Minn. to Leonard and Ruby (Nelson) Anderson. He graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1965. Larry served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 and attended Austin Junior College. He married Linda Hanson on October 2, 1971 in Clarks Grove, Minn. He was a salesman for Hormel for 16 years, living in Indianapolis, Ind., Traverse City, Mich., and Grand Rapids, Mich. He and Linda moved to Rochester in 1988 to open their first Subway restaurant. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, traveling to the Caribbean, and relaxing at the family cabin. Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; son Chris (Meg) Anderson of Edina, Minn.; son Matt (Emily) Anderson of Harmony, Minn.; daughter, Sara (Andy) Lempke of Oronoco, Minn.; six grandchildren, Signe, Foster, Ruby, Gavin, Lindyn, and Corinne; one sister Sue (Roger) Powers of Dubuque, Iowa and one brother, Tom (Karen) Anderson of Cedarburg, Wisc. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Avenue SE Rochester, Minn., with Reverend Anjanette Bandel officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Clarks Grove Cemetery, Clarks Grove, Minn. at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
