Kurt Carl Erdmann

Kurt C. Erdmann, 90, of Shoreview, MN., formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully January 22, 2014, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Kurt was born November 5, 1923, in Krolow, Germany and immigrated to the United States as a child. He was the son of Hermann and Theresa (Westphal) Erdmann. On August 23, 1944, he married LaVina Mellor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. Kurt was a golf course superintendent for the Rochester Parks Department and the Rochester Golf and Country Club, from which he retired. He and LaVina were longtime members of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Kurt enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and the Minnesota Twins. Above all, Kurt loved spending time and making memories with his family. Kurt is survived by his children, Duane (Judy) Erdmann of Kennett Square, PA., Charlene Myhre of Fargo, N.D., Carol (Tim) Van Rooy of Shoreview, MN; grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Kulesa, Bryce Myhre, Jennifer Myhre, Lynsey (Kyle) Rittenbach and great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Jordyn, Alyssa, Carter. Kurt was preceded in death by his loving wife, LaVina; parents; 1 sister, and 6 brothers. A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2014, and one hour prior to the service all at the funeral home. Rev. Steven Sampson will be officiating with interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
