Kent Lewis Lavake

STILLWATER, MINN:Kent L. LaVake, 54, died Monday, February 27, 2012 in Wabasha, MN. Kent Lewis LaVake was born April 29, 1957 to Lewis and Lillian (Kakela) LaVake in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Thurston High School, Detroit, MI with honors. Kent was on the school swim and synchronized swim teams. Kent loved his career in Sleep Medicine. He was proud of PDS, Inc., the company that he had worked for as a Registered Sleep Technologist for the last ten and one half years. He will be missed by many. His leisure activities included surfing the net, staying informed with National and World news. He also enjoyed gardening, spending time with his dog, and laughing. Kent is survived by his two sisters, Lynn Williams, Rochester, MN and Sandra LaVake, Valley City, ND; his five nephews, a grand niece and nephew, Dustin Williams and Tasha Aradia and their son Seph Geiger; Guthrie and Julie Williams and daughter Lillian Grace; and Casey, Jesse and Jamie Martin. Kent was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
