Kenneth W Wilson, age 90, of Rochester Minnesota, beloved husband of Ruth (Sorensen) for 61 years, passed away peacefully May 16th surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Ruth and children Beth (Geoff) Wilson-Gittleson, Paul ( Wendy) Wilson, Kristen (Erik) Wilson-Weiberg, Stephen Wilson and Robert (Priscilla) Wilson, as well as eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ken was born on the farm in Minden Nebraska, the son of Gertrude (Paulsen) and Clayton Wilson.He was proud to be Mindens first Eagle Scout.Ken was an army veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific.Following WWII he went to an International Student work camp in Herzogsagmuhle, Germany to help rebuild and assist war-displaced persons.After, his military service he attended the University of Nebraska where he earned an electrical engineering degree and also met Ruth, of Lincoln NE., through the Lutheran Student Association. During Ken and Ruths many happy years together, they resided in Columbus NE., Fairfield CT., and Rochester, MN.After graduating he worked for Consumers Public Power in Nebraska, and spent 33 years with IBM.Ken was active member and served in board positions in the Lutheran Brotherhood,atZumbro Lutheran Church, Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Fairfield and Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. In retirement, he also served as local and regional chairperson and volunteer for the American Red Cross.Among Ken's interests were geneology, archiving historical and family events, camping, traveling and square dancing.He was known among his Danish, German, and state-side relatives for his detailed itineraries and helpful travel assistance.
