ROCHESTER - Kenneth "Tea" Wallace, 79, passed peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2010 with his family at his side.Mr. Wallace was born in Simpson, MN on May 26, 1931 to Dewey and Catherine (Bell) Wallace. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in January 1954. He married Marion Cordes in August 1952. Ken was an over the road truck driver for the remainder of his career, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the VFW Post 1215 and the Wabasha American Legion Post 50. Ken enjoyed spending time at the river, and spending time with his family, friends, and loyal dog, Cooper. Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion; his daughters, Becky (Jim) Lowrie, of Rochester and Lori (Larry) Nierman, of Rochester; grandchildren, Tony and Trista Nierman of Rochester; step-grandchildren, Briana (Don) Brewington, of Duluth, MN, and Alicia (Geoff) Pursell, of St. Paul, MN; and one great step-grandchild, Fiona Pursell; a brother, Lyle (Betty Orpen) Wallace, of Mason City, IA; a sister, Marcy Hebl, of Stewartville; and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hank.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 222 6th Avenue SW, with Rev. Joel Haak officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Grandview Mausoleum. Memorials can be directed to Season's Hospice or a charity of donor's choice.
