Kathryn Leona Edgar

STEWARTVILLE, MN:Kathryn L. Edgar, 92, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Stewartville Care Center. Kathryn was born September 21, 1918 to Adolph and Mabel (Skaran) Iverson in Grand Meadow, MN. She graduated from Grand Meadow High School. She married William Rieken in 1938 and the couple lived in Grand Meadow, MN until moving to Rochester in 1963. William died in 1965. Kathryn moved to Stewartville in 1976. She worked at Pace Dairy for fifteen years and did seasonal work at Seneca Foods until 1999. She married Maurice Edgar in 1976 and he later died in 1999. She moved into the Stewartville Care Center in 2003. Kathryn enjoyed old time music and dancing, playing cards, and baking goodies for friends and family. She enjoyed travel and wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. Kathryn is survived by her two daughters, Debra (David) Serrano, Stewartville, MN, and Sharon Rieken, Rochester, MN, six grandchildren; Shawn (Terry) Reps, Dylan (Traci) Serrano, Tanya Serrano, Teresa (Jeff) Fossland, Sheila (Steve) LaVan and Doug Benson; fifteen great grandchildren, her three brothers; David (Judy) Iverson, Sturgis, SD, Ron (Karen) Iverson, Santa Maria, CA, and Kenneth (Shirley) Iverson, Spring Valley, MN; and her three sisters, Audrey (Fritz) Olson, Kasson, MN, Marcella (Robert) Wiese, St. Cloud, MN, and Dorothy Fisk, Grand Meadow, MN.She was preceded in death by her two husbands, William Rieken and Maurice Edgar, a son Kenneth Rieken, a daughter Judy Benson, a sister Alice Shaw, and her brother Vernon Iverson. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Stewartville United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 15, 2011.
